Memorise: Behold, as the eyes of servants look into the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that He have mercy upon us. Psalm 123:2
Read: 2 Kings 13:14-19
14 Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.
15 And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.
16 And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand upon it: and Elisha put his hands upon the king’s hands.
17 And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD’S deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.
18 And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.
19 And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.
Bible In One Year: Deuteronomy 14-16, Mark 13:14-37
MESSAGE:
A notable investor once said he kept making attempts at his targeted breakthrough, but could not arrive there until after about 6000 failures. To him, he did not fail but only learnt 6000 ways by which you cannot arrive at that invention. To arrive at your desired success, you may need to fail a number of times, it is allowed.
Every tree, depending on its size, structure, root network and age will take various hits from the axe before it finally falls. Falling is rarely ever the problem, it’s quitting that is.
A quitter hardly ever overcomes problems. Perseverance is the key to major breakthroughs. Never give up on anything positive that you set out to do no matter how hard it seems. Just keep at it and eventually, you will reach your goal.
Key Point: Your prayer efforts are not in vain; every prayer is an axe hit against your problem.
Hymn 2:
1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.
4.But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
