Read Pastor Adeboye's Shocking Advice to Bishop Oyedepo at 60th Birthday

Pastor E.A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has advised Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church, aka Winners’ Chapel to be extra careful especially with people around him, in his calling as a man of God.
He gave this subtle but far-reaching advice during the 60th birthday celebration of the Apostle of Faith on Saturday, September 27, 2014.

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the RCCG, in a short sermon, reminisced on his youthful days as a boxer and asked the celebrant, which he described as a special son, to watch his steps.
His words:
“I want to talk to my son. I used to be a boxer when I was growing up. I discovered that when you become a champion, it means work has just begun, because every other boxer wants your position. Apart from members of your family and a few others, every other person wants to be number one.”He described a champion as “the man who remains standing when the battle is over.” Anchoring his admonishment on 1st Corinthians 10:12, Daddy G.O, as he is fondly called, continued: “The bigger you are, the heavier your opponents, and the higher a man goes, the more dangerous it becomes. The man who jumps from a storey building doesn’t suffer the same injury as the man who is pushed. The race is over only after you have crossed the finishing line.”

Pastor Adeboye, who ordained the celebrant over a decade ago, ended his admonition by offering a special prayer for him and his family, but not without urging the guests present to surrender to the authority of Jesus, noting that anyone who died without giving his or her life to God would end up in hell.
As usual, he concluded the session with an altar call and many gave their life to Christ in an open confession.
