3'Cs for Success in Ministry - Pastor David Ibiyeomie

[A summary of Papa's teaching @ the International Minister's Conference, Winners Chapel, May 2018]

1. Character

Ecclesiastes 12:13 [AMP] All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God's providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man.

It is the fear of God in a man that shapes his character.

A popular adage:
Qualifications may take you to the top, but Character will keep you there.
Character is who you are when no one is watching....
Improve your character...
Walk in the fear of God by understanding the Law of Seed time and Harvest.
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Always know that whatever you do will come back to bite you whether good or bad...
If you do good, it will come back for your favor. If you do bad, same thing.
Give People a sense of Purpose, direction and mission.
Develop the talents, gifts and abilities in others by investing in them.
Live to maintain a good name without Blemish.
Proverbs 22:1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
Be conscious of passing down godly values.
Be sacrificial in your approach to Life.
Live for God & the benefit of humanity.
Be focused for generational gains more than short term personal gratifications.
Be Heaven Conscious.

2. Capacity

This is the ability to receive or contain a thing
Matthew 25:14-15 For it is like a man who was about to take a long journey, and he called his servants together and entrusted them with his property.

To one he gave five talents [probably about $5,000], to another two, to another one–to each in proportion to his own personal ability.
Then he departed and left the country.

Everyone gets same measure of faith at SALVATION...
It is up to you to develop yours...
You have the responsibility of consciously increasing your capacity.
As leaders, it is our responsibility, your responsibility to know more than your followers...
You have to know more than them to be able to command your leadership...
Change your thinking pattern.
Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
Jesus increased his capacity personally even when he didn't go to school... He took his time to learn and self develop himself.
John 7:15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Walk with Wise People.
Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed
Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
You cannot walk with a 4 x 3 friend and expect a 16 x 9 result.
Finally for Capacity,

Believe in Excellence

Deuteronomy 28:13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
Excellence simply means being outstandingly well...
That is God's blessing for us...
As leaders, believe in it and work towards it...
Daniel was highly preferred because of his excellent nature....

3. Consistency

This is the steadfast adherence to Principles
James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
John 13:17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
Be consistent in Followership
Hebrews 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Understand the law of followership by having mentors...
As leaders,
- Read your mentors book
- Listen to their tapes/messages
- Observe him
Every great man both in the world and in Christ had mentors...
If you want to be successful in life as a leader, you need to have a mentor. You may have many mentors but have only one father.
You need to be lead by someone to be able to lead someone else...
After being consistent in Followership, you need to be consistent in:
Covenant Practices
- Be consistent in Tithing
Malachi 3:10-16
-Be a generous giver.
If you are to be a leader, you must understand the law of giving...
It is a natural law that works for both christians and unbelievers....
You need to have a compassionate heart as a leader...
But remember, no one. Can outgive God...😉.
